The Algarve Wine Comission – CVA
The Algarve Wine Commission is a legal entity of private law and public utility. Since 2012 is responsible for the certification of wine products with from Lagos, Portimão, Lagoa and Tavira regions (DO), as well as Geographical Indication Algarve (IG Algarve).
– Mission –
- Certify, control, and promote products within its jurisdiction;
- Promote the image of the DO and IG certifications and improve consumer perception of value, based on strong product differentiation;
- Encourage the adoption of best agricultural practices and technological development.

– Commitment –
The Algarve Wine Commission (CVA) is commited to promote products from the Algarve Region and to ensure a greater satisfaction towards its stakeholders such as consumers, suppliers, institutions and economic agents related to its activity. To ensure this commitment, the CVA board establishes the following action guidelines:
- Developing conditions to assure competitiveness of the Algarve Wines sector, with CVA as a partner for innovation and market development.
- Acting ethical and responsibly with its employees, promoting a work environment where people can express their full potential.
- Maintain and strengthen the status of the certification process for wine products with DO and IG in the Algarve region, following the guidelines established in the quality management system documentation and in harmony with the requirements of NP EN ISO/IEC 17065:2014, and other applicable laws and regulations.
